On the evening of 7 August, an islander found that both the University of Taiwan's pedagogic and R & D web pages had been changed to a red background, accompanied by a text entitled “There is only one China in the world”, and various links and columns in the web pages had been similarly replaced.
At about 2230 p.m., the University of Taiwan issued a statement stating that, in the case of web anomalies, the school had initiated a positive restoration process and that the two pages were now closed and re-routed until the processing was completed. According to media reports, the station was suspected to have been hacked and it was noted that since the United States Speaker of the House of Representatives, Pelosi, had visited Taiwan, several units on the island had reported cyber attacks. On the evening of 6 August, during the live broadcast of the pipeline platform, the famous green medium of the island, People's View News, was suddenly switched to a map of China, accompanied by the words “China's territorial sovereignty, and no interference from outside” as previously reported by the Watchers' Network, and the background music was changed to “I and my homeland”.
The live video recorded by the online community showed that the aforementioned footage had lasted for several minutes before being restored, causing a wave of alarm among the live viewers.
This was subsequently confirmed by a statement issued by the People's View News stating that television broadcasting was normal and that only the network was affected by the hacking of the mainframe, resulting in a difference between what was broadcast on the pipeline and what was broadcast on the television channel.

Combined with multi-media reports, on 3 August, a hacker group claiming to be “APT27” uploaded a video to the pipeline stating that a special cyber operation would be launched on Taiwan, under the influence of a Peloxi visit to Taiwan, targeting government websites and infrastructure in Taiwan.
On 7 July, APT27 again uploaded a video into the pipeline indicating that its actions were temporarily terminated and claiming that it attacked targets such as Taiwan's “Police Department of the Ministry of the Interior”, the “Department of Roads of the Ministry of Transport”, Taiwan's Electricity, Kim Ji-yang Technology's Underground Networks and their Routers, Financial Information Corporation, Theoretical International, and declared that its personnel possessed more than 20,000 Taiwan networking devices. “APT27” makes it clear that “If you (DPP authorities) continue to provoke the situation, we will come back and wish you good luck”.
