In response to the death of two examiners of the “Nio (Nio Motors) crash”, NIO official Weibo issued a statement stating that on 22 June, at about 1720 hours, a NIO test vehicle crashed from the third floor of the parking building at Shanghai Innovation Port, resulting in the death of two digital cabin testers, one of whom was a company colleague and the other a partner employee. We are deeply saddened by this accident, and we express our deep condolences to our colleagues and partner staff who lost their lives. The company has set up a dedicated team to help families deal with aftercare.
After the accident, the company, in conjunction with the public security department, initiated the process of analysing the causes of the accident.
As previously reported by the media, on 22 June, at least 1722 hours, Anto Road 56 of Antwan Town went to Shanghai Autonomy Port 8 building, 3rd floor, and an NIO test vehicle crashed from a high altitude, injuring Dooby and one of Zhang's two examiners and bringing them to Andin Oriental Hepatitis Hospital, where they were evacuated.
