2022-08-08: [Article Link] According to the British Mirror, on 7 August, a diver named Michael Packard miraculously survived in June last year when he was swallowed by humpback whales at sea depths of about 14 metres.
Michael, an experienced commercial diver, was suddenly hit by heavy objects when he dived in the sea near Cape Cod, Massachusetts, feeling like he was loaded with a 100-ton truck. Then Michael felt like he was entering a dark and meaty cave, and he began to think he had been swallowed by a giant shark, but when he found out that the creature had no teeth, he quickly realized that it was actually a bigger creature. Michael said he thought he was dying, thinking of his young child and his family at the moment when the darkness suddenly turned into light, the humpback whales opened their jaws and Michael was thrown back to the sea without any damage. The humpback whales, like their cousin blue whales, are one of the largest animals on Earth. According to the British non-profit organization, the Dolphin Conservation Association, the humpback whales have a throat diameter of 0.38 metres, barely enough humans to slip, and only once in history has humans been swallowed by whales.
